If you read blogs or have a blog, you have probably seen the Google Friend Connect widget in the sidebar of many blogs. I am one of those that has it installed on my blogs, but what is it?
The Google Friends Connect is one of Google’s online services that allows online users to connect with their friends on different websites and blogs. The GFC service can also act as a platform that attracts people of the same interests. For example, if you were on a deals/bargains blog and seen the GFC widget, you know those members of that site like to look at deals/bargains online. With this feature, you can share the information with others that are working on the same domain as you to help with marketing campaigns and maybe even generate new customers/clients.
Here are just a few of the key benefits in using the GFC service:
- Users can participate on blogs and websites that are geared toward their interests
- Users have the ability to post comments to show their presence in the community
- Users can invite others with the same interest which can allow your network to grow
- Owners can send newsletters to their fans. This is an AWESOME tool that I suggest taking advantage of if you have a large fan list.
I think this service is something that is can be useful and I suggest adding it, especially since you can send newsletters to your fans. If you are a blogger that does product reviews, some companies and PR companies use your GFC follower account in determining who they are going to have review their products.
Feel free to join Network WAHM on GFC, see sidebar.
